Snow Tails.

After being a huge success at the Essen Fair, Lamont brothers' sled racing game, Snow Tails, will be available in stores in North America in May. Temporarily renamed Too Mush, this fabulous game will finally be edited under its original name Snow Tails. We made this decision after taking into consideration the gaming community's bad reactions to the potential new name.

In Snow Tails, brave players test their skills in wild races. To help them on their way, they have cards with different values that will make their dogs run at a more or less high speed. They have to manage their hand well in order to slide, increase speed, or slow down at just the right time. Only a keen tactical awareness will enable them to avoid the trees blocking the way or prevent them from skidding right off the track!

Last but not least, the first buyers of Snow Tails will get a very special promotional tile offered by their favorite stores!

Lamont Brothers' short biography

The Lamont brothers create a new game every year. Their Scottish heritage is very important to them, which is why they often present their games wearing kilts! Their previous game, Shear Panic, was a successful tactical game including beautiful sculpted sheep.

Asmodée loses an accent and gets a refreshing change with a new logo!

(october. 17 2008)

When does a logo change? When it no longers reflects the reality of its company. This was the case of the old Asmodée logo - with its old dragon scales inherited from the old RPG roots of Asmodée and its distinctively French accents, this logo no longer quite reflected this company has recently become:

Asmodee is now open to all sorts of games (from the light-hearted party gane to the strategy game, that's without talking about licences, collectible card games and miniature games) and to players of all ages (the fabled 9 to 99), and is closer than ever to people with a presence at conventions throughout the year.

And mostly, Asmodee, through its branches across the world (Belgium, Germany, Spain, U.S.A.) is now planning and acting like a world leader when it comes to gaming. This is why we needed to no longer talk one language, but many of them - removing our "frenchy" accents to have a more universal "Asmodee" which can be read (and pronounced).

This is our new and improved logo, more fun and now with 100% more smiles, more open to the world, which is closer to what is Asmodee and what it wants you to discover.

Yakuza Hazu Akai: The first expansion for Okko

(October. 1 2008)

The demon hunters from the world of Okko will return this October with an expansion that's all about Yakuza!

Okko, the second game from Hazaard Edition (after Eollis), offers you the chance to lead a band of demon hunters or a cohort of evil creatures in a fantasy feudal Japan setting. Taking its inspiration from the comic of the same name by Hub, Okko is a tactical game for two players, played with cardboard cutouts, cards and dice.

Nearly three months after the game's release, the editor has sent us a few images and tidbits about the game's first expansion... Called Yakuza Hazu Akai, this expansion will drag you into the opium smoke filled dens of the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia. Led by the iron fist of the Oyabun (the "father"), this criminal organization is more than a challenge as an opponent, and can even be a fearsome ally against the Oni!

This expansion, which will hit the shelves in October, contains 9 new characters and 5 equipment cards. Between the poisonous Kunoishi (a Geisha of low morals....) and the imposing Chained Ogre, the players' teams will be ready for new challenges and scenarios!

Draco Mundis from Hazgaard
(September. 30 2008)

Hazgaard, the rising new editor, has just announced its new game: Draco Mundis, by Christophe Boelinger. A word to the fans of Dungeon Twister, Draco Mundis has some similar game mechanics with its older sibling and you'll probably enjoy it just as much! Now, let us move on to a proper introduction...

Draco Mundis is a game for two to four players, of ages 12 and up. Each player has a number of character and terrain tokens. During a first game phase, the players will place their tokens on the game board. The game itself then begins, each player being able to take actions such as: move, explore the jungle or fight their enemies. The objective is to score the most victory points. Each token can move in certain directions, a certain movement value, a combat score and one or more special powers.

The rules of Draco Mundis are rather simple, but mastering them requires a sharp sense of strategy and concentration worthy of a master tactician. Add a dash of memory and a bit of bluffing, and you get a rich and fascinating game. Diplomacy and forging alliances are also important part of the game when playing with 3-4 players. In the end, Draco Mundis is a small game on which luck has no impact, which uses some of the game mechanics from Dungeon Twister: same teams between players, victory points, special powers, action points, etc. Since its author is Christophe Boelinger, the creator DT, the rule similarities just make sense.

Draco Mundis will be available in late Fall / early Winter, and a website will soon be online, with the rules available for download.

New partnership (september 04 2008)

Paris, France:

August 26, 2008. Gameworks and Asmodée have signed a partnership agreement which will allow Gameworks to concentrate all of their energy on the publishing side of their activity, becoming a true development studio, and making Asmodée their exclusive distributor.

The Swiss publisher will retain all of its publishing freedom and solely concentrate on doing what they do best: great quality games. On the other hand, Asmodée will take control of the manufacturing, thus allowing Gameworks production to take advantage of its powerful distribution network. This complementary association will benefit everyone.

Sébastien Pauchon from Gameworks says: "We are very pleased with this agreement. It will help us to put more time and energy into developing our product-line. Until now, Malcolm Braff and I had to do everything, and we lost a lot of time managing the distribution aspect within which we have no expertise. Thanks to this agreement, we can now benefit from the Asmodée knowhow in manufacturing and distribution, and our energy will be 100% devoted to creating and publishing new games."

Pierre Gaubil from Asmodée is on the same positive line: "Gameworks has fantastic creative talents that deserve better distribution throughout Europe and all over the world. This agreement, based upon complementary expertise is something we greatly value at Asmodée. Games like Jamaica, whose success keeps on growing, will now reach a wider audience, as we will propose it in 20 countries."

This agreement was made possible thanks to the development of the Asmodée network all around the world, making Asmodée a leading company in the game business.
